Description
This is a variation of the Zia sun symbol used in the New Mexico state flag. Four is a sacred number which symbolizes the Circle of Life: the four directions, the four times of day, the four stages of life, and the four seasons. The circle binds the four elements of four together with concentrated focus for the pupil in the middle .
Back Story
My mother (Terry Pipkin) had a lifelong passion for reading that culminated in owning a bookstore in our home town of Clovis, New Mexico. The store’s name was The Enchanted Sunmark. This door represents a blend between her bookstore’s logo and the My Eye logo to represent all the encouragement she gave her son to follow his dreams with passion resulting in the My Eye Properties business venture.
These boards came from the original 1909 redwood siding removed from the south wall of the very room it was permanently installed in.
