Unique Conversation Pieces For Your Home
The first of these custom reclaimed barn doors I started creating for the Heaven On Gates project. So much of the original 100 year old “old growth” redwood structure was not suitable for today’s building standards and needed to be replaced. I simply could not throw away all that perfectly cured patina and character!
My intent was to create a unique marketing strategy in the style of My Eye to help sell the finished house. We designed the house as a blend of contemporary with a natural wood tone based on these doors. The results were a very unique spin on an old concept that inspired the new home owners to purchase our house. They now have multiple conversation pieces for any quests experiencing some of the home’s original character for another 100 years.
On each subsequent project I tried to take the custom doors to a new level. My goal is to search for renovation projects where I can offer this same type of custom door design service for anyone interested in these type of extremely unique pieces of artwork.
